MULTIPLE ATTACKS ON A PLANET

I just made a big mistake.
I used the battle calc. and sent enuf firepower to wipe this guy out
and then a few minutes later another wave of cargo ships to pillage the remains.
THE GROUND DEFENCES REBUILD INSTANTLY. I lost the entire second wave.
Remember this for future attacks as you grow!

Not all of the defenses will rebuild, but some will usually. It's best to hold back some ships and send your second wave in escorted, or send them all at once.

a good reason to multiwave attack is A run 2 sorties.

This accomples 2 things.
1 you take 75% of the planets resources.

2 you have an increase chance to destroy more defences that have to be rebuilt.

So do you send attack ships only the first time if someone has a bunch of defenses?

The way I have started to attack people ir run a firs wave with enough cargo to take 50% of resources then the 2nd wave has a recycler or 2 and more cargo with an armed escort incase od defenses rebuilding. if they have a lot of resources I might send a 3rd wave againwith a recycler, cargo and armed escort

Jeffrey is right u need to send Attack ships with every wave. The most in the first wave if he/she has ships there.

say I'm facing a light target i will split my fleet of 10pos 10apollo 10 artis

so 5 pos 5 apollo 5 artis with transports equal to the haul +1 in case the transport takes the hit. I do this 2ce.

so the first wave kills the fighters and hitsthe defences. hopefully some of the defences will die.

the second wave arrives 30sec later and hopefully kills more defences.

by doing this I pull 75% of the planets resources and hopefully drop some of those guns till they rebuild them.

all i can say is , probes probes probes. always keep upto date with enemy information.
